Junker

The Junker Group boasts a long history of grinder production led by its founder Erwin Junker, who established Junker Maschinen und Apparatebau in 1962.

Possessing both an entrepreneurial spirit and a gift for mechanical engineering, Junker began his career in machine tools by entering an apprenticeship program at the Haas Company in 1947. One year later, the ambitious Junker joined Company Prototype, where he continuously rose through the ranks, eventually engineering and building a fully automated machine for grinding tips of screw taps. This invention led to Junker’s promotion to head of the company’s grinding machine department. Junker later resigned to form Junker Maschinen und Apparatebau, which was partially financed by a family member.

Today, the Junker Group is known for its high speed, high precision grinders including cylindrical ID and OD grinders, centerless grinders, double disc grinders and universal grinders.
